To most people, lifting weights is just exercise. It’s something they do to get ready for summer and the beach or after New Years to calm their guilt over all the junk they’ve been eating and the belly they’ve been gaining.
To those who’ve found this site, the iron probably means so much more. The barbell is your companion and friend; the gym is your church and the power rack is your alter. You lift because it feels good and right and righteous. You eat your protein, take your vitamins and say your prayers. You count reps as you fall asleep and get out of bed early to do it all over again. At least, that’s what I do.
About The Iron Witness
My name is Danny and I am the Iron Witness.
The Iron Witness is about training hard, eating right, and having a good time doing it. It’s also about the men who founded our sport and the things they accomplished.
Hopefully the articles on this site will inspire and motivate you. Who knows, maybe you’ll even learn something new.
If you like reading about the history of bodybuilding and weightlifting, just want a little motivation to get you pumped for the gym, or need something to look at while you chow down on meal #7, stick around. The best reps are yet to come.
Your cyber-spotter,
Danny
